Founding Partner/CEO: Julie Diaz-Asper is responsible for overall strategy and day-to-day operations. She has spent more than 20 years helping large organizations to innovate and pursue new market opportunities. As a strategy consultant at Booz Allen and Coopers & Lybrand, she focused on leveraging new technologies to create market opportunities for telecom and media companies. Later she worked with American Express on using the Internet to innovate how to reach, service, and engage its commercial card customer base. She has managed a wide range of research projects including usability labs, online surveys, private community facilitation and focus groups. Julie’s community activities include serving as Chief Researcher for Latinos in Social Media (LATISM), Chair of the Milagros Committee at Children’s National Health System and on the board of the Organization of American States Art Museum of the Americas.
Managing Partner/Business Development Head: Rachel Lerman is responsible for new market development, growth strategies and partnerships. For more than 20 years, Rachel has helped large companies and global investors use research insights and networking to improve their operations. At the Corporate Executive Board in Europe and the U.S., she expanded research and best practice sharing networks of C-level executives in IT, R&D, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing and Communications from across industries. She developed strategic relationships with senior leaders at companies like Ford, Exxon-Mobil, Merck, IKEA, Procter & Gamble, Bank of America, L’Oreal, Nokia and Lego. In addition to client-facing roles, internally at CEB she worked on successful projects using customer and employee surveys and qualitative feedback to improve client retention and enhance products and service delivery. Before CEB, she provided institutional investors with research on corporate governance, socially responsible investing, and shareholder rights in Europe and Asia. Rachel is an active advocate for education and serves as a volunteer, board member and advisor to several non-profits including Great Schools and For Love of the Children.
Managing Partner/Chief Operating Officer: Laura de Oña is responsible for all administrative and legal issues as well as the financial direction of the company. She brings more than 15 years of corporate experience in legal, tax, and finance. She was the Director of Taxes and Legal Counsel at Phelps Dodge International overseeing Sarbanes-Oxley tax and legal compliance for the corporation, which had manufacturing operations in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Prior to joining Phelps Dodge Laura worked as International Tax Counsel for Tyco International and MCI Communications. She has extensive experience with acquisitions, operations and due diligence. Laura loves to cook and share recipes on her Spanish language video channel Sol y Pimienta which has over 120K views. Laura’s community activities include being on the board of the Parents Association as well as chairing various committees including the auction at her children’s schools.
Government & Politics Media Director: Tom Young overseas all political, policy and advocacy research projects. He has over two decades of Washington D.C. media experience with such companies as MSNBC, CNN and N24 German Cable News. As a producer he has covered Capitol Hill, the White House, Supreme Court and national party political conventions, involving both long-term coverage planning and breaking news. He worked as a morning news Editorial Producer for WTTG TV and as Bureau Chief for Chronicle Broadcasting. He brings a deep knowledge of politics and its interaction with media, how issues are promoted and play out on the Hill and in media, and the players who bring this about. He is producer/director of an independent documentary, “The Man Who Lost China: Owen Lattimore, McCarthy’s First Target” which is nearing completion.
Head of Community Management and Recruitment: Denisse Iscaza is responsible for crafting strategies and partnerships to target and engage traditionally hard to reach communities. From Latina moms to urban youth, she has experience in crafting off-line, social and mobile campaigns to reach quality participants. She has a great track record of developing high performing niche media partnerships, influencer outreach programs, email campaigns and community-based initiatives.
